Lovely high grade halfcrown. Big, bold, and beautiful. It is very easy to find mediocre examples of this date.
The definitive rarity of the 20th Century, the 1905 halfcrown is likely to be the last gap filled in many a Collection. It certainly was in mine.
Scarce. Start building up a good selection of these and you really feel like you're getting somewhere with coin collecting. Give it a try and see how it makes you feel - these Young Head halfcrowns are emotional coins
One of the trickier dates in the series. Not an easy coin to find this good - there is a touch of wear on the obverse, as ever, but it's a thumping example and I am very happy to display it!
A beautiful design and a very respectable grade. I love these.
Officially, Obverse 1 is slightly scarcer, but I have to say that in my experience, there isn't much between the two. Stonking example, regardless.
Some honest wear but no major problems. R2 in ESC. That's rare in anyone's book.
A very tricky date, the '26. A challenge to grade, too, as the reverse always comes off better than the obverse. Scarce.
I always use a few key high points on the design to judge the quality of these halfcrowns the spiral on the harp's hip the I and S of the garter legend and of course, the top of the ear Compare this with yours...
Noticed how tricky high grade 1954 cupro-nickel has become? That's quite a recent thing. I think everyone's cottoned on. Don't be too late.
