You don't often see these this close to EF. It's a very attractive coin in the hand. What's not to like?
In my experience, high grade halfpennies are harder to come by than pennies from this era. More difficult than most other denominations, I'd say.
Common in low grades, quite rewarding in middle grades, but by the time you get to this level with these, they are serious coins. Take them seriously
Halfpennies are just as interesting as Bun Pennies as far as varieties are concerned. There's only two 1863s, but at least 15 types of 1861, for instance. They haven't gone crazy yet, like Bun Pennies have, but they should, and they might. This one is R10 in Freeman
Good strong coin with a mature lustre, so if you don't have a high grade example yet, have a good look
Brilliant Uncirculated. Beautiful example of the beaded border halfpenny, certainly the best I've had. A coin you'd never need to upgrade.

From the lovely lustrous reverse you can see that this is a very high grade coin. The obverse is noticeably darker, something that is often caused by having spent some time in a Whitman folder. I can't be sure of that, but that's my experience.

Significantly scarcer than the First Effigy halfpenny. It's a very attractive coin, with genuine lustre. There is a little bit of surface muck on the reverse that the photo hasn't quite picked up, but the underlying coin is intact.
