Look how sharp the feathers on the wings of the harp are, and the lions faces. Compare it with yours...
These acorn sixpences are getting quite difficult to find with intact acorn knobbles. Look around, and see what you find!
I have all sorts of fun collecting Victorian silver by Davies number. There's so much more to find than just doing straight date runs. Seven different types for 1887, for starters.
Very decent example of the Rare West Indian series. Actually minted in smaller numbers than the better known 1944.
Lovely lustrous example
This is the best date in this short series. Don't try and complete Victoria first, whatever you do.
It's quite easy to find low grade examples of these, but once you start getting up to this level, they are becoming quite serious coins.
The trickiest of the three varieties of the 1889, and if you're going for completion, you've got to have all three. ESC doesn't differentiate the three variants, and refers to all 1889s as Scarce
1871 is rated R in ESC
Rather a gorgeous coin in the hand, this one. Lovely classy little coin.
